WHAT IS Vermont’s free & referral clinics?

Vermont’s Free & Referral Clinics (VFRC) is a state-wide association serving a network of eight healthcare clinics and programs across the state that provide free services. The association provides funding, advocacy, and technical support to our eight members, and serves as a voice at the state level for free clinics as well as patients across Vermont affected by barriers such as high healthcare costs, limited access to primary care, lack of insurance, lack of proficiency with English, and more.

In 2025, the VFRC Board of Directors approved the following updated mission statement to better reflect who we are as a network, what we believe, and what we hope for the future: Vermont’s Free & Referral Clinics (VFRC) advocates for a more inclusive, equitable, and accessible healthcare system.

Beginning July 1, Bridges to Health will join Vermont’s Free & Referral Clinics through a fiscal sponsorship. Bridges to Health is a Community Health Worker program that addresses systemic and individual barriers to health and well-being for immigrant and migrant workers and their families across Vermont. With a statewide network of staff and volunteers, the program connects communities to care, food security resources, insurance enrollment, and preventive health services.

Please consider supporting the Bridges to Health program as it transitions to VFRC on July 1, 2026.
